To start with to put it simply, the reason why people are afraid because Christians are afraid of Grace or Unconditional Favor. Ordinary people either like to live by their rules, or might be a few breaking few norms of society.
Some great conclusions of religions
Rivers, ponds, lakes and streams – they all have different names, but they all contain water. Just as religions do – they all contain truths.
All religions try to benefit people, with the same basic message of the need for love and compassion, for justice and honesty, for contentment.
The great conclusions mentioned by people of other religion is in fact mentioned in the bible.
The Law of the Bible that brought forth Condemnation as mentioned in the verse ,blessings to those who followed it, curses to those who broke it.
Quotes from Bible
Matthew 22:36-40Young’s Literal Translation (YLT)
36 `Teacher, which [is] the great command in the Law?’
37 And Jesus said to him, `Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thine understanding —
38 this is a first and great command;
39 and the second [is] like to it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself;
40 on these — the two commands — all the law and the prophets do hang.’
Christianity in its purest form, Jesus Christ fulfilled the law for all of us by suffering and dying on the cross. So that we be no longer under law , but under unconditional favor. That in fact is the good news some Christians have kept you people from.
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
Although many churches still preach law with grace, a sincere mistake Christians churches make.
For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
Which was preached my Paul the greatest of Apostle of Jesus Christ correcting the Christians yet still ignored by Christians at large today.
Psychologically we can analyze why people are afraid to come to church by reading through these verses below.
9 And Jehovah saith unto Cain, `Where [is] Abel thy brother?’ and he saith, `I have not known; my brother’s keeper — I?’
10 And He saith, `What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood is crying unto Me from the ground;
11 and now, cursed [art] thou from the ground, which hath opened her mouth to receive the blood of thy brother from thy hand;
12 when thou tillest the ground, it doth not add to give its strength to thee — a wanderer, even a trembling one, thou art in the earth.’
13 And Cain saith unto Jehovah, `Greater is my punishment than to be borne;
14 lo, Thou hast driven me to-day from off the face of the ground, and from Thy face I am hid; and I have been a wanderer, even a trembling one, in the earth, and it hath been — every one finding me doth slay me.’
Cain sins and develops a fear of God in this story. A type of fear that is still being preached in churches today by misinterpreting verses in Bible.
So that people may live holy, they end up scaring people away, end up living a sinful life separated from God.
