Who may be Baptized?

Nobody has ever truly fully understood the entire Scripture. No matter how much one learns there still seems to be many ways to look at it with respect to our lives, people around us and even the cool Science related stuff.

God revealed to me mystery is good, mystery is what encourages learning not the answer in back of the book. More mysterious a person is, more one would like to know what sort of person he or she is.

Proverbs 25:2
It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.

So today’s topic is who may be baptized.

We need to look at it from eyes of John the Baptist

As the narration in the Bible goes

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.

We already know Pharisees and Sadducees get beat up allot in the new testament. Its almost a bad word in Christian dictionary. Actually they were learned men who were reputed to have deep understanding of word of God.

The question is what was John’s problem with the Pharasees and Sadducees.

Let’s look at Johns purpose for second.

Matthew 3:3

This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.'”

The reason his purpose of his ministry existed is because Pharasees and Sadducees didn’t do their Job.

Here we can see Jesus explaining how they didn’t do their job and perverted it.

Mark 7

You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.”

And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe[a] your own traditions!10 For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and mother,’[b] and, ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’[c]

11 But you say, ‘If a man says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban”—’ (that is, a gift to God)

So John and Jesus preached the Commandments and instructions of God the way it was supposed to. So people realized they were sinners and come to repentance.

That they may be ready to receive the Blood of Christ freely once Christ has fulfilled the Law. As it is written

Matthew 5:17

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

To conclude only a Man or Woman should only get baptized if he or she is ready to live by faith in the finished work of Christ.

As here is Scripture involves Scripture being quoted (you can’t really go wrong with that hehe)

Romans 4:3
What does Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.
